Vendor Biography

Peg’s Patties began in Bowmanville with a simple idea and a long-held dream. Peg, our owner and operator, had always wanted to start a Jamaican patty business. When the COVID-19 pandemic brought unexpected job changes, she decided it was the right time to take that leap.

With support and inspiration from her husband Maurice, who was born in Jamaica, Peg began crafting patties rooted in authentic Caribbean flavour. In those early days, everything was made by hand, with dough carefully rolled and fillings prepared in small batches for friends and family. What started in a home kitchen quickly grew through word of mouth, as more people discovered and shared the experience.

As demand increased, Peg’s Patties made the move to Picton, where production now takes place at the County Food Hub. Working out of this health-certified shared commercial kitchen allows us to grow while staying true to the quality and care that built our foundation.

Our product line has expanded to include a variety of options for every taste. From our classic beef patties, now available in three varieties, to jerk chicken, vegan, and breakfast patties, each product is made with the same attention to flavour and consistency. We have also added our signature jerk marinade, so you can bring those bold, familiar flavours into your own kitchen!

At the heart of Peg’s Patties is a commitment to community. We believe in supporting small businesses and local retailers rather than large chain grocers. Where you find our products reflects what we value, connections, relationships, and the importance of keeping local economies strong.

While we’ve grown from our beginnings, our approach remains the same. We continue to focus on quality ingredients, careful preparation, and food that brings people together.

Peg’s Patties is built on family, culture, and the belief that good food should be shared.
